Professor Green: 'Glastonbury festival is great for rap music'

Professor Green has spoken out in defence of Glastonbury, saying that the festival is great for supporting rap music. Watch our video interview with Green below.

Earlier this week, Gigwise spoke to Iggy Azalea who claimed that the Worthy Farm event did not support hip hop

Now, in an interview with Gigwise, Professor Green has said that his set on the Pyramid Stage this year showed him the true power and influence of the Pilton festival: "There were a lot of people in that crowd that haven't heard my music or have heard it and choose not to listen to it, but I got a wicked response on Twitter from a whole heap of people who openly said 'I wasn't a fan but now I'm converted'. There's no better tweet than that. It means that you're doing your job properly and that I'm a half-decent performer!"

He continued: "I've performed there three years in a row -  as have a lot of my peers. I don't think it's fair to say that Glastonbury doesn't support rap music. Jay-Z seemed to do alright, they definitely supported him. There was a lot of noise about him headlining but when it came down to it, everybody turned up and he absolutely killed it."
