Portishead member Geoff Barrow has hit out at The Weeknd for sampling the band's song 'Machine Gun' on his latest single 'Belong To The World'. Listen to both tracks below.
Earlier today, The Weeknd unveiled the video for the track from his upcoming album, Kiss Land.
However, after music website Pitchfork posted a link to the clip, Barrow then took to twitter to voice his opposition to The Weeknd's use of the sample:
@pitchforkmedia @theweeknd when someone asks to sample you and you refuse they should have the respect as a fellow artist to not use it.

He then added:
We usually give sample clearance to tunes we like. its got fuk all to do with money! As most of them are hiphop artist that are skint.
