We spent last weekend in Portugal at Optimus Alive. The weather was dreadful but the festival was great, with performances from true music giants, bands set for future headline success and some of the most hotly tipped artists on the planet.
From Green Day to Jessie Ware, Depeche Mode to Flume, Kings Of Leon to Of Monsters & Men, Biffy Clyro to Vampire Weekend, Optimus was a non-stop celebration of the best in the 2013 music scene. On top of that, the Portuguese are bloody lovely.
Not only do they specialise in the finest custard tarts known to man, the people are friendly, fun-loving and a little bit crazy.
