Babyshambles have revealed the artwork for upcoming album, Sequel To The Prequel.

Pete Doherty and co unveiled the sleeve design via NME. The cover is designed by renowned artist Damien Hirst, who has previously won of the Turner Prize  and directed the video for Blur's single 'Country House'. The design also uses a photograph by legendary rock photographer Pennie Smith, who took iconic snaps of bands such as The Clash and The Slits.

Babyshambles bassist Drew McConnell told NME: "It happened kind of naturally and in the spirit you'd hope for.

"We asked Damien to suggest someone to put something together, then to our amazement he offered to do it himself. The fact that he used a pic taken by Penny Smith, who shot all those iconic photos of The Clash, just makes it make even more sense."

Sequel To The Prequel is due for release on 2 September 2013, with new single 'Nothing Comes To Nothing' out on 26 August.
