Alt-country singer Ryan Adams has recorded almost an album worth of songs with pop punk pin-ups Fall Out Boy.
Pete Wentz and co say that they spent two 'wild' nights making 'raw' music at Adams' LA studio, according to Rolling Stone magazine.
Wentz said that the band were introduced to Adams through Butch Walker, who produced their most latest LP, Save Rock And Roll.
"I used to like listening to [Ryan's] stuff growing up," he said, adding that the sessions were "like hanging out with your older brother that got you into punk rock. Except he gets all the jokes and he's not like, 'Here's these shitty kids' or whatever."
At Pax-Am Studios the unlikely collaboration laid down 'eight or nine' tunes among a clutter of comic books and GI Joe action figures. Wentz continued: "It was punk rock – the stuff that makes you want to kick the shit out of your bedroom at your parents' house."

"It was really good for the spirit of Fall Out Boy," Wentz went on. "There were ideas, yelling, laughing and a lot of jokes, just for the heck of it … We played loud and Patrick was singing live vocals, so it was very raw."
With the bands fifth record coming out just three months ago, they hope to at least cut a single from the Adams sessions, possible under title Keeping Up Disappearances, if nothing else. "I would hope that somewhere, in some universe, you could put out a seven-inch and kids still care,"
Wentz said adding that even if Adams' tracks have more 'noise' than what their fans are used to, "it would be great for [them] to hear … the raw energy that happens from sessions like that".
Fall Out Boy are set to play at this August's Reading and Leeds festivals. For more information visit Gigwise gig tickets.
