Trains to this weekend's Latitude festival have been severely delayed after a man climbed on the roof of Ipswich train station this morning (Friday 19 July).

The Guardian reports that rail operators had to shut off the power as police attempted to talk the man down from the roof. It is said that the man was dressed only in a pair of shorts when he made his way on to the roof at around 8.30am before he threatened to jump.

A Greater Anglia spokeswoman said: "Train services at Ipswich station have been delayed since 8.30am this morning following reports of a trespasser on the station roof. Emergency services are attending the incident which has required the power supply to the overhead power lines to be switched off, preventing train movements through the station."

Bloc Party will be headlining Latitude festival tonight

The company has advised customers not to travel unless absolutely necessary. The affected services are between Ipswich and London Liverpool Street, Norwich, Felixstowe, Cambridge, Lowestoft and Peterborough. Among those affected by the shutdown are those travelling to this weekend's Latitude festival in Southwold, Suffolk.
