Day two of Latitude festival 2013 was brought to an almighty climax by German synth-pop icons Kraftwerk, who headlined the Obelisk Arena last night (Saturday 20 July).

With dazzling visuals and special effects, the electro heroes delighted a vast crowd with an epic, career-spanning set that included classic such as 'Autobahn', 'Robots', 'Das Robot' and 'Trans Europe Express'. The audience stared on transfixed through their 3D glasses as the four-piece pulled out all of the in a truly historic audio-visual spectacular. With new material rumoured for release in the not too distant future, make the most of these icons being on the road while you can.

Playing just before them on the Suffolk festival's main stage were Hot Chip, who were clearly humbled by their billing and paid tribute to the headliners several times throughout their set. With disco cuts like 'Over and Over', 'One Life Stand' and an invigorated rendition of 'Boy From School', the band used their sunset slot to turn the fields of Latitude into an all-out rave.

The true victors of the day however, were almost certainly the Yeah Yeah Yeahs - who received a heroes' welcome and delivered a mind-blowing set that was well and truly worthy of headliners. In high spirts and clad in yellow leather, frontwoman Karen O proved herself to be the ultimate stage presence as the chemistry between her and eccentric guitarist Nick Zimmer reached near volatile levels. Opening with 'Zero' before tearing into 'Gold Lion', the band fired through a relentless set of garage rock classics that received one of the most rapturous receptions that Latitude has ever seen.

Jessie Ware also warmed up the main stage with a smooth set of sultry and soul R n' B, while newcomers Bo Ningen and Drenge brought a filthy smack of brutal noise-rock to upset Latitude's normally reserved atmosphere.

Speaking to Gigwise after their set, Drenge said that they were 'humbled' by the crowd they drew, especially considering they're yet to have an album out yet. After that performance, they're certainly ones to watch.

The Robots
Numbers
