In the ongoing legal proceedings following the death of pop icon Michael Jackson, the singer's mother completed her testimony yesterday, claiming she was unaware he was 'abusing' painkillers before his death.
Katherine Jackson testified in court, she was in front of the jury for a full two days, and revealed some new insights on her son's financial and medical issues.
"I heard for years that Michael Jackson was broke but he wasn't" she told the jury, which goes against previously revealed information about his financial affairs. She admitted that her son sent her monthly checks along with daughter Janet Jackson.
The Jackson family matriarch also commented on her son's alleged drug abuse, stating "I knew he was taking them [painkillers] but I didn't know he was abusing them."

She also mentioned that the family held an intervention for Michael at Neverland Ranch, and that he was angry and yelled at his family because, "when we got there, there was nothing wrong with him." She claimed she had no knowledge of her son having a Narcon implant, which is used to help people to stop using drugs.
However, the AEG attorneys used an interview clip of Katherine on Oprah where she made statements that contradicted what she had just testified concerning her son's drug use. In the interview she admitted that he was addicted to the pain medication.
