Kings Of Leon’s O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire show next month is to be webcast, with comedian Fred Armisen to direct it.
The August 9 show is part of the American Express Unstaged series. Other events in the series have included shows from Vampire Weekend, whose show as directed by Steve Buscemi, and The Killers, who’s webcast was directed Werner Herzog.
The Kings Of Leon show will be streamed by both YouTube and Vevo.
Six days after the American Express show the band will play a huge headline show at Belfast’s Boucher Road Playing Fields on August 14. They will then headline V Festival which takes place on August 17 and 18.
Kings Of Leon are set to release their new album, Mechanical Bull, on September 24. Earlier this year bassist Jared Followill told NME: “I thought we were going to make a really mature album but I’m amazed how youthful it sounds.”

Frontman Caleb Followill said there had been no pressure on the band while making this album.
“I think the last one took the pressure off us. Come Around Sundown followed what was at the point the biggest record of our career [2008’s Only By The Night], so going into this record it was like, ‘The monkey’s off our back, we don’t have that pressure of whether we’re going to be able to match what the last record did.’ We changed it up a bit on this record.”
