The Charlatans have said that the reason they have outlasted many of their Britpop contemporaries is back they 'love what they do' - and that they're unlikely to split up any time soon.
Speaking backstage at Kendal Calling, the band told Gigwise that they were working on their next album - and spoke of how staying grounded has made them stay together for nearly 25 years.
We asked The Charlatans what they thought about surviving for so long and avoiding being part of the string of 90s band reunions that has seen the likes of Blur, Pulp and The Stone Roses reform.
"That's up to some people, some people never got their just desserts the first time around," said bassist Martin Blunt. "That's why we didn't split up."
Keyboardist Tony Rogers added: "It's a shame when good bands split up. Obviously the name that's going to keep coming back is The Stone Roses. They had a lot more to offer, so that was a well worthwhile reunion. These bands obviously love doing what they do."
