Clean Bandit were pulled from their slot at Secret Garden Party last night after US star Regina Spektor reportedly demanded the band, with whom her set clashed, be axed from the festival.
Spektor gave the offical reason that the wind had changed, resulting in "too much bass coming over the hill" from the stage which Clean Bandit were due to perform on at the same time as Spektor was making her appearance on the main stage.
Eddy Temple-Morris, curator of the Temple of Boom stage for SGP, where Clean Bandit were due to perform, took to twitter last night stating "I'm heartbroken. Regina Spektor has thrown her toys out of the pram and threatened to pull unless we cancel the wonderful @cleanbandit."
He went on to promise that Clean Bandit would be headlining his stage at the festival next year.
As Clean Bandit tweeted that they were "unbelievably upset" at the decision made by Secret Garden Party, fans poured in their support and outrage at Spektor's shocking demands.
Tweets from fans included "@respektor you are a spoilt BRAT for cancelling @cleanbandit" and that "Behaviour has no place at festivals. I hope noone books her again" and "her voice sounds like a a demon singing while gargling holy water anyway." The unpopular and controversial decision has not been commented on by Regina Spektor.
