US star Ginuwine has hit back at claims he was high on MDMA during a TV performance with his r&b supergroup TGT. See a video of the performance below.

The trio (Tyrese, Ginuwine and Tank) recently performed live on US morning new show The Couch, with Ginuwine (famous for his 1996 hit 'Pony') fidgeting and twitching through - and getting disapproving stares from Tyrese during the track.

Some viewers had suggested Ginuwine had taken drugs before the appearance, which the singer strongly denies.

"It was 6 o’clock in the morning. I popped something, but it wasn’t any damn Molly," he told WorldStarHipHop, claiming his erratic performance was due to an energy drink instead. "I popped a d— 5-Hour Energy Drink and I didn’t think it would do that to me."

Bandmate Tank admitted he was mad at Ginuwine, adding: "I was mad because I saw what was happening and I had my shit together."

The trio joked about the performance on Twitter afterwards, however, claiming that they simply needed to rehearse more before future live appearances.
