Having always spoken out against bullying, Lady Gaga is now facing allegations of bullying her own staff members during her Monster's Ball world tour between 2009 and 2011.

A former crew member working on the tour has spoken out about her treatment of staff, claiming the singer was prone to unpredictably lash out.

He cites one incident in particular, where Gaga turned her wrath on a backing singer during a prayer circle, in a report by website Entertainment.ie.

"One night she just suddenly turned on one of the backing singers, branding her unprofessional and ungrateful," says the former crew member. "She crucified her in front of dozens of people - she skinned this girl alive.

"It was so painful to watch - and no, you couldn't step in.

"She offers support to her fans who are victims of bullying and calls them her monsters - but she is a bully and a monster herself."

This has emerged along side claims made by a former friend of Gaga, who has revealed that the singer has slipped so far into her own pop persona that she is now living in an "alternative universe" and can "no longer tell the difference between reality and performance."

The insider reports that exhibitionist singer has become so absorbed by her image in the public eye that even her Mum now calls her Gaga.

Lady Gaga will release her new single, 'Applause' on 19 August and will perform the track at the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards later this month.
