Politics has never been cool. Important yes, controversial definitely, but cool? Sadly not. And politicians only make things worse when they try to immerse themselves in popular culture and pop music.
It has today been revealed that David Cameron presented world leaders, including Barack Obama, Angela Merkel and Vladamir Putin, with a USB mixtape featuring the music 'the best of British'. Oddly enough, this collection included Conor Maynard.
Just a few months ago, Labour MP Tom Watson was so struck by rockers Drenge at Glastonbury that he named the band in his resignation letter to Ed Milliband just weeks later. Much to the band's disinterest.
