Indie rockers Foxygen have been forced to cancel upcoming live shows in Vancouver and Seattle, due to front man Sam France's broken leg.

France broke his leg whilst performing a show at nightclub 'First Avenue' in Mineappolis, Minesota, on Monday this week. The show had to be abruptly called off mid-performance.

The band released an official statement on Facebook detailing their plans: "Sadly, the Vancouver & Seattle shows will have to be cancelled. Sam needs to have surgery this morning."

However they promise 'We will be back' and mention that there is a chance the shows in Pickatho will happen 'It all depends on healing & travel time'. They also thanked support band Twin Peaks 'for being awesome on this short, short tour.'

Watch the aftermath of the accident below:

This news comes after revelations from touring band member Elizabeth Fey, who blogged about alledged tensions in the group. She talked about segregation between memebrs and that she feels 'pretty alienated from the band other than Sam (obviously) and Justin.' Jonathan Rado is set to work on a solo project, and Fey and France have also been working on a side project. However, the band's publicist confirmed that the band are still together.

Stay tuned for updates on Foxygen's return to the road, their third album entitled ' We are the The 21st Ambassadors of Peace & Magic' is on sale now.
