Arcade Fire confirm first live show in support of upcoming new album

With the new album slated for release on October 29, Arcade Fire have now announced the first show on the back of the as of the moment untitled LP.

The Canadian collective have been confirmed as headliners for Australian festival Big Day Out which features 5 days of music throughout January and February next year. Arcade Fire join an incredible line up, Blur, Pearl Jam, Mudhoney, The 1975 and Snoop Dogg/Lion are just some of the acts already confirmed.

Production duties on Arcade Fire's new album were carried out by LCD Soundsystem's James Murphey who confirmed earlier in the month that he had finished work on the album. So far the band have not given away much about the new material, only uploading a 40 second teaser of a Peter Gabriel cover 'Games without Frontier'.

Arcade Fire initally revealed the release date of their fourth album via Twitter. A fan posted the weet “@arcadefire you’re my favorite” the band thanked the fan by telling him the release date, a date which James Murphy was completely unaware of.
