Earlier this week, Gaga revealed the artwork for her new single 'Applause', which sees Gaga with her face painted like a clown.
'Applause' has been co written and produced by long time collaborator DJ White Shadow, and is the first single to be taken from the forthcoming album ARTPOP.
Commenting on the artwork for the single, she states: '"His is one jacket [designed by Gareth Pugh] This is one image. This is one moment. This is one statement.'
She continues, rather more cryptically that the statement is that she is 'not one icon' but 'every icon', adding: "I'm an icon that is made out of all the colors on the palette at every time. I have no restrictions. No restrictions."
