The Sugababes have suggested that they have split up to focus on solo material, after band member Jade Ewen said that the girl group were 'pretty much done'. However, fellow Sugababe Amelle Berrabah has said that the band hope to return next year.

Speaking to Digital Spy at the launch of the BMW i3 electric car, Ewen said that the future was uncertain - but they would love to do a joint tour with the original line-up who have reformed as Mutya Keisha Siobhan.

"I don't even know if the band stuff is going to happen again, if I'm completely honest," she said. "I think Amelle wants to do her own solo stuff, Heidi is doing a Happy Days musical... I think we're pretty much done.

"I'm working on solo material at the moment actually. It's only come about in the past three weeks, so it's quite a new project. No-one's really seen me yet. I sang for Eurovision, I've been in a band, but I don't think anyone really knows what I'm about."

Band member Amelle Berrabah then said that they were hoping to reunite soon.

"I'm still in touch with Heidi [Range] and Jade," she told Digital Spy. "Me and Heidi are really close - we always have been. I'm really happy for her, she's really happy. Same with Jade, she's cool - she's just got back from holiday."

She continued: "We're thinking of getting back together at the end of next year. I'm currently promoting this single now, then my own album. Hopefully after that we can rebuild and see what we're going to do."

When quizzed about the activities of Mutya Keisha Siobhan - the original Sugababes line-up who recently returned with fresh material - Jade Ewen added that she would love to go on the road for some shows with them.

"I would love to do a giant tour of all the Sugababes, old lineup and new lineup," she said. "That would be awesome, it would sell out."

Ewen continued: "That's easy for me to say though, I don't know how that would go down [with the other girls]. But I'm definitely up for it."
