More about: Depeche Mode
Depeche Mode have spoken out about what American fans can expect from their upcoming US tour - saying that their sets will be full of surprises.
The synth-pop icons, who are currently on tour in Europe, told Rolling Stone magazine that their gigs will feature an 'interesting mix' of classics, fan favourites and rarities.
"After Europe, we take a short break, so the Americans will be getting us fresh," said guitarist and keyboardist Martin Gore. "The set that we're playing in Europe is longer than we've ever played before – 2 hours and 15 minutes. It's a mix. There are some songs that are hardcore fan favorites, others that are hits, others that are new, but we like to mix it up. We're lucky we have an audience that wants us to mix it up."
He continued: "There's an element of dilemma because there's songs we have to play – 'Enjoy The Silence,' 'Personal Jesus,' maybe that's it. We've done 'Walking In My Shoes' for years now, and 'Never Let Me Down Again'."
"Beyond that there are so many songs to choose from. But after 33 years, there's always some gems in the catalog that you'd forgotten – and that you want to play again."
