Solange has revealed that her eagerly awaited new album won't be released until 2014. On the plus side, the collaborators she is working with make it seem like it will be worth the wait.
Having already stunned with Dev Hynes collaborations including 'Losing You' and 'Lovers In The Parking Lot', Solange has confirmed to Billboard magazine that she will work with Patrick Wimberly of Chairlift, SBTRKT collaborator Sampha and Dave Longstreth. The album will be released on Saint Records, an offshoot of Sony music.
"I’m actually trying to give myself a deadline this time around," says the star, discussing the delay in releasing the record. "One of the pros of being independent is having that space and that time. But it’s also a major con when you don’t set aside a deadline and keep going and keep going. When you have a goal in mind you definitely stay motivated.
"I’m trying to stay motivated because I know it took four years before my last record came out. That is not happening — it's gonna come out next year."

Solange also revealed that she hoped to sign upcoming artists to Saint Records, adding: "I have so many friends who’ve put me on to so much great music. And we just have that endless conversation about new upcoming great artists that might not get the exposure they deserve on an independent level.
"There’s so much magic happening right now on an independent level and I’m excited to be attached to that."
