Former Gogol Bordello guitarist Oren Kaplan is suing the band's frontman Eugene Hutz for allegedly taking half a million dollars from the band's bank account.
The gypsy-punk star has been accused of transferring $500,000 from the bank's collective account after he took control of the band's financial affairs in 2009.
An extract from the lawsuit reads: "Hutz [took] approximately half a million dollars from the bank accounts of the Gogol Bordello entities and deposited those funds into the accounts of new companies which are wholly owned by Hutz.
"Plaintiff had no prior notice of, and has never approved any of these illicit self dealing acts."
