Avicii is celebrating after scoring his third week at No.1 of the UK singles chart, after selling over half-a-million copies of his smash hit 'Wake Me Up'.
The Swedish DJ had already secured the fastest-selling single of 2013 after shiftin nearly 267,000 sales during its week of release, and has since gone on to sell 120,000 copies per week until going on to smash through 545,000 copies overall this week.
Speaking to the Official Chart Show on BBC Radio One, Avicii said the success of 'Wake Me Up' was 'insane'.
“Being the fastest selling record [of 2013] is obviously a huge deal to me,” he said. “I never thought being on the Official Chart was an option. Dance music has its own things - we have our own charts and lists. So just being Number 1 is insane."
