Despite cancellening their scheduled appearances in Belgium and Japan this week following guitarist Gem Archer's severe head indury, V Festival have announced that Beady Eye are still expected to play at the festival which kicks off on August 17.

Archer's accident occurred on August 1, he has remained in hospital under observation since and is reportedly in a stable condition.

Following the band's cancellation of other dates due to the fact that they were unable to play without Archer, there had been doubts as to whether they would be able to make V Festival. However a spokesperson for the festival has said "Unless they hear otherwise they're still playing."

Gem Archer recently suffered a serious head injury, leading to cancelled shows

"I want to get back there and smash its head to f***ing pieces man, let people know we’re the bollocks," he said recently in an interview with NME.
