Las Vegas superstars The Killers have revealed plans to release new music very soon, although it is likely to be a stand-alone track rather than a full follow up to 2012's Battle Born.

In a recent interview with Radio.com, guitarist Dave Keuning revealed his hopes to release new Killers music very soon, and hints at an upcoming compilation release.

"I can’t promise a date, but I think we would like to release the song on some level and I don’t know how," Keuning tells the website. "I’m not saying a new album is going to come out or anything like that.

"Sometimes people just put out songs or it gets used for some kind of compilation. We’d like to get a new song out there soon."

He also spoke of the band's recent work with M83 main-man Anthony Gonzalez, with whom the band have been working on a new track.

"There was a mutual thing like, 'Yeah we think he’s good. We’ll try him out,'" he added. "It’s something we finally agreed with our label on.

"I’d say maybe there’s a 65 percent chance we’ll work with him again."
