Ellie Goulding is currently looking set to score a No.1 single with her new release, 'Burn', after the track made its iTunes debut at the top of the chart.

Goulding's previous biggest hit came in 2010, when her festive cover version of Elton John's 'Your Song' reached No.2 in the UK charts. 'Burn', taken from the upcoming re-release of her 2012 album Halcyon, is currently No.1 on iTunes, outselling summer anthem 'Wake Me Up' by Avicii and the UK's current chart topper, 'We Can't Stop' by Miley Cyrus, which are at No.2 and No.3 respectively.

'Burn' was originally recorded by X Factor winner Leona Lewis in sessions for her Glassheart album, but eventually rejected by the star.

Other new tracks in the iTunes Top Ten, set to give Miley Cyrus and Ellie Goulding a run for their money include 'We Own The Night' by The Wanted, which enters at No.5 and 'Why'd You Only Call Me When You're High' by Arctic Monkeys, which enters at No.6.
