Producer Dillon Francis has hit out at Katy Perry, calling her a 'rip off' and claims she stole ideas for her new video 'Roar' from one of his tracks.

Dillon was referring to the video for his aptly-named 2013 track 'Messages'. Both clips feature the lyrics to the tracks being unveiled in the form of a text message - however Perry went to the efforts to be seen driving, sitting on the toilet and playing with her cat, Kitty Purry', in the video for 'Roar'.

Producer Will.i.am recently felt the force of similar accusations, when he used an uncleared sample on his track, 'Lets Go'.

The song sounds identical in parts to Arty and Mat Zo's 2011 track 'Rebound', and Will.i.am even admitted that he had stolen parts of the song - although he said that it was accidental, as he had contacted them last year and didn't realise that he didn't have clearance to use it.

So what was it - a tribute, a rip-off or just pure coincidence? Check out the artists who have been accused of stealing ideas from others right here - Katy Perry was just the tip of the iceberg...
