Police have warned V Festival goers against bringing drugs into the festival, saying that anyone who does will be 'dealt with'.

The festival kicks off tomorrow in locations in Staffordshire and Chelmsford, with headline performances from Beyonce and Kings Of Leon at both locations. Staffordshire police have issued a stern warning to party-goers heading to the festival that the sale or use of illegal substances would not be tolerated by the authorities.

"Drugs are not welcome at V," says Chief Inspector Pete Owen of Staffordshire Police. "If you take them, or attempt to sell them, you will be caught and dealt with."

A 22-year-old man died at Weston Park in 2012 after taking the formerly 'legal high' Mephedrone and drinking vodka and lager during the day. Timothy Brockhurst was found dead in his tent on the third day of last year's event.

Thousands of pop-loving music fans are already making their way to V Festival in Chelmsford and Stafford to get their fill of a pretty diverse line-up that offers everything from Kings of Leon to Kendrick Lamar and Ellie Goulding to Idris Elba. The festival kicks off in both locations tomorrow, 17 August 2013.
