Katy Perry's new single 'Roar' has barely been released for a week and has already become the biggest digital debut of 2013 and is projected to hit 525,000 sales before the week is out.
If that wasn't enough, the track marks a career best for Perry as 'Roar' looks set to trump all of her 2010 Teenage Dream hits including 'Firework' which sold 509,000 copies in its first week.
The American singer is also set to grab her eighth Billboard No.1 later this week as 'Roar' looks set to topple Robin Thicke's 'Blurred Lines' from top spot.
Perry has previously enjoyed seven US No.1 singles, topping the charts with 'I Kissed A Girl', 'California Gurls', 'Teenage Dream', 'Firework', 'E.T.', 'Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.)' and 'Part Of Me'.

Perry's forthcoming album, Prism is set to be released on 22 October, 2013 and if lead single 'Roar' is anything to go by, the LP will be one of the biggest-selling pop records of the year.
'Roar' is yet to be released in the UK, which leaves the chart-topping door about for Ellie Goulding who looks set to score her first No.1 this week with her single 'Burn' currently ahead in the British midweek charts.
