63 people were arrested on the weekend (Saturday 17 August), after a number of incidents of drug, alcohol and assualt issues at Eminem's gig at Slane Castle, Ireland.
Irish newspaper The Journal claims that 63 of the 80,000 attending at Slane Castle were arrested, with police force the Gardaí claiming that the figure is “very much in line” with events of this size.
Of the arrests made, five were for assault, 35 were for minor drug offences and 22 were for public order offences while one was made for drink-driving.
"The vast majority of fans heeded the advice given in advance of the event which ensured everyone had a safe and enjoyable experience," said Superintendent Michael Devine.
Extra precaution was taken at the show, with concert-goers subjected to at least three searches before being allowed entry to the venue. Last week, concert promoters MCD also took out full-page ads in local press, urging fans to behave and listing a series of 'dos and don'ts' to ensure order and safety.
