Reading and Leeds organiser Melvin Benn has said that he never considered The Rolling Stones as a headliner for the festival, but that he would love Foals to top the event in the future.
Speaking to Gigwise ahead of this weekend's event, the Festival Republic Boss said that this year's billing of Green Day, Eminem, Biffy Clyro, Nine Inch Nails and more is his 'dream line-up'.
"The dream line-up for me is the relevant line-up for the year that we're in," said Benn. "I never think 'oh wouldn't it be great if we had The Rolling Stones'. That's more of an iconic thing and something that Glastonbury do fantastically well. Reading and Leeds don't book for iconic reasons - we book for relevant reasons."
The festival veteran also added that he could see Foals headlining in the near future, after progressing their way up the bill over years in the same vein as Biffy Clyro;
"I'd say for me the act that has worked their way up, not quite to the level of Biffy, but the act that I'd be most certain of being a future headliner would be Foals," he said. "When I say that they're doing everything right, that's not from a career point of a view - they're just getting better and better. Naturally, they will come through so strong."
He added: "There are one or two other acts that I have in mind but they've only done one album, and to make such a prediction so early would be foolish."
Foals are playing on the Main Stage at Reading and Leeds this year, after triumphantly headlining their first major UK festival at Latitude in July.
