Blink-182's bassist Mark Hopper has announced that the band have plans to return to the recording studio in 2014 and work on what will be their seventh studio album release.

Speaking to Kerrang!, Hoppus confirmed that they will reunite early next year to write and record new material, the first since Neighbourhoods, their sixth album release in 2011.

He said "We haven't thought about any new songs yet. It always happens when the three of us are together in a room.

"Because when Tom lives in San Diego, Travis lives in Los Angeles and I live in London, we don't really talk all that much."

He added "But then when we get in a room together, it all falls into place and we start making jokes. That's when we start writing songs and reconnecting with everything."
