Reading Festival kicks off today with some of the biggest names in rock performing at Richfield Avenue including Green Day, System Of A Down, Deftones and many more.

Green Day headline the first day of Reading Festival, following their spectacular warm-up gig in London this week. The band performed at Brixton Academy on Wednesday 21 August, thrilling fans with a full performance of their iconic Dookie album. Hopes are high among the Reading audience that they will repeat the spectacle during their headline slot.

Also on the main stage are System Of A Down, Deftones and Frank Turner - who support Green Day at their Brixton Academy gig this week. Turner has cancelled all festival dates after Reading & Leeds due to ongoing back problems, so his mainstage set could be fans' last chance to see him live for quite some time.

Also on the mainstage are Bring Me The Horizon, New Found Glory, Skindred and While She Sleeps.

Frank Turner's mainstage performance could be his last for some time due to injury

Divisive DJ Skrillex headlines the NME / BBC Radio One stage on the opening day of Reading Festival 2013, with what is sure to be a spectacular show. One of the world's leading dubstep stars, the producer is equally adored and criticised, but his headline slot is testament to his sucess. A$ap Rocky and Major Lazer also perform on the NME/BBC stage, making this the stage to be for party-loving Reading-goers. Also performing on the stage are Frightened Rabbit, Bastille, Peace, Fidlar, Deap Vally, Kodaline, Night Engine and Dry The River.

Love him or hate him, Skrillex sure knows how to put on a show

Elsewhere at Reading, Sub Focus, Fenech Soler, Bondax and Clean Bandit perform on the Radio One dance stage and Alkaline Trio, The Living End, RX Bandits and The Computers perform on the Lock Up stage.

The Festival Republic stage hosts Charlie Boyer & The Voyeurs, M0, Chvrches and Crystal Fighters, and Wiley fans will be hoping the grime star makes an appearance for his scheduled headline slot on the BBC 1Extra stage.
