A Nehru jacket, belonging to Beatles legend John Lennon has fetched £7,000 at an auction here in the UK.
The jacket had originally been estimated to sell for around £10,000 so it seems it may have been slightly over-valued. Nevertheless the buyer, a woman who wishes to remain anonymous, has said she and her husband are absolutely delighted with the purchase, and that it will be the latest addition to the already extensive collection of Beatles memorabilia at their home.

The jacket had been left behind at Lennon's Berkshire home just before he emigrated to the US in 1971. He left it in the hands of his assistant to do with it what she wished, who then bequeathed it to a friend for his birthday.
The news comes after a dentist revealed plans to clone John Lennon after buying his tooth at another auction.
The Sun newspaper reports that Dr Daniel Zuk bought the tooth at an auction in 2011 from Lennon's former housekeeper, Dot Jarlett after it was removed in the late 1960s. Now, the Fab Four fanatic has revealed that he has grand ambitions for it.
"If scientists think they can clone mammoths, then John Lennon could be next," said Zuk. "To say I had a small part in bringing back one of rock's greatest stars would be mind-blowing. I'm nervous and excited at the possibility we will be able to fully sequence John Lennon's DNA, very soon I hope."
He added: "Many Beatles fans remember where they were when they heard John Lennon was shot. I hope they also live to hear the day he got another chance."
