Canadian alt-folk stars Half Moon Run have spoken about their 'inspirational' experience of touring with Mumford & Sons.
The band toured with the likes of Mumford in Europe and Metric in the US - and say that the shows have had a last impression on them,
Talking to Gigwise backstage at Reading Festival, Half Moon Run singer Devon Portielje said that both tours were 'outrageous'.
"You get a little bit nervous before playing to a crowd of that size, but then you get used to it," he said. "We went on stage with Mumford at the end of almost every night for the encore, and it was just insane. The applause and the adrenaline is totally addictive, along with the ability to control that many people."
When asked if playing to such huge crowds was having an impact on the way they write music, Devon responded: "Subconsciously, it's starting to - but I'm not sure if I'm going to let it in."
Mumford and Sons made headlines recently when they claimed that they were the victims of snobbery when it came to the perception of them in the UK, something that they hadn't experienced on the other side of the Atlantic.

Devon argued that he hadn't really noticed any difference: "I've only read about it. It's kind of snobby, but we're not really that folky. If you use an acoustic guitar you're seen as folky but we're sitting in between several genres. What UK and US audiences expect is kind of similar."
Half Moon Run play on the Festival Republic stage on Friday at Reading festival, Saturday at Leeds festival.
