UK singer Dido joined rapper Eminem during his headline slot at Reading Festival tonight (24 August, 2013) to perform their duet, 'Stan'.
Dido's appearance had been rumoured on site throughout the Saturday of Reading Festival, and shortly before 11pm, she joined Marshall Mathers on stage. Dido was not introduced as she arrived on stage and said nothing to the audience. Eminem and Dido hugged following the performance.

'Stan' was recorded in 1999 and gave Eminem his second UK No.1 in 2000.
The track became infamous for its controversial video, in which Devon Sawa portrayed an obsessed Eminem fan who murders his pregnant girlfriend, played in the video by Dido. The video mirrored the lyrics of the track, which dealt with a young rap fan losing grip on reality.
Emimen is currently working on his eighth studio album, and Shady Records signings Slaughterhouse recently told Gigwise that the rapper would return with a 'surprise' for fans.
Rapper Royce Da 5' 9" told us, “I’m not really allowed to talk about it. Em’s whole thing is the element of surprise. That’s how it’s always been with him.”
“He gets in to his own world,” says Joell Ortiz. “I too am like him in a way. I like to go in to my cave and get the meat and potatoes of my album done before I venture out because I’ve gotta figure out the sound. I’ve gotta figure out exactly where I wanna go. I’ve gotta get the ideas that have been running around in my head down first before I start saying, ‘Ok, maybe I could get Slaughterhouse on this one or maybe we can get this artist.’ So I’m sure that’s probably what he’s doing.”
Ortiz adds, “But c’mon... that’s Eminem. That’s the homie now. I’m sure we’ll be working with him for it.”
Over the past six months Eminem has been photographed in studios with the likes of comedian Chris Rock and rapper Big Sean - whose recent “Control” leak caused an internet frenzy due to the featured Kendrick Lamar verse - as well as TDE’s Ab Soul and Kendrick Lamar himself, but no official details have yet been released. The release date and title of Eminem’s upcoming eighth album is still TBA.
