UK dance duo Chase & Status have discussed their collaboration with disco legend Nile Rodgers, revealing how the iconic disco producer kept them working into the early hours of the morning to perfect their tracks.
The 'Lost & Not Found' stars teamed up with Rodgers on a number of collaborative tracks, at least one of which is set to appear on their upcoming third studio album, Brand New Machine. Speaking to Gigwise backstage at Reading Festival, the duo revealed how when they first met Rodgers, they thought his compliments were simply due to his good manners.
"It's hard to put into words how amazing Nile Rodgers is and the success he's had," says Will Kennard. "I think we first met him last year in Ibiza, he was playing after us. He came up to us, said he was a massive fan and 'I'd love to get in the studio with you'.
"I thought he was probably just being polite and whatever, a year later his management is trying to sort it out and immediately we jumped on it."

Discussing their time in the studio together, Kennard revealed Rodgers unstoppable work ethic, praising his positivity and energy in the studio.
"We spent a couple of days just jamming out with the legend that is. He's a music genius but more than that the vibe, the positivity the energy. Maybe at 4am in the morning we'd be flagging, saying 'lets call it a day' and Nile will say to keep going. That's what we loved about him and that's why he's so amazing.
"We've written some incredible tracks and we're excited that one of those could be on our album."
When asked if their tracks with Rodgers were based in his trademark disco sounds, Saul Milton added: "You could instantly start making another Chic record in minutes in a room. We have a few tracks on the hard drive that are in that vein."
