Frank Turner has tipped Scottish rockers Frightened Rabbit  to follow in Biffy Clyro's footsteps and become future festival headliners at Reading & Leeds Festival.

Discussing the importance of new acts climbing up the bill and being given the opportunity to headline at festivals, Turner tells Gigwise "I'd like to think Frightened Rabbit might be up there, they are one of my favourite, favourite bands.

"They're a band who are climbing up in what they do so hopefully we'll one day see a Frightened Rabbit headline slot."

Turner also revealed that he was disappointed to have been playing his set at the same time as Frightened Rabbit's performance as he and Frabbit front man Scott had been hoping to guest perform on each other's sets.

He continued by strongly praising Biffy Clyro for being a new British band to grab the headline slot at Reading and Leeds.

"They have a lot of repeat headliners at this festival so it's great to see fresh blood coming through that are British band like Biffy, who have worked their way up from the bottom up."

The desire for fresh headliners has similiarly been indicated by Reading and Leeds organiser Melvin Benn who recently claimed that he viewed indie band Foals as potential headliners for his festival in the future.
