Lady Gaga has been accused of being liberal with the truth about her Born This Way ball tour in a new interview with The Guardian, claiming she sold out all her concerts during her US dates.
The ARTPOP star was defending herself against claims of her dwindling popularity when she claimed that her her ticket sales were not as bad as reports suggested.
"I know people said I wasn't selling out in America but that was entirely untrue," she said. "We sold out all over the world and every night I looked out into the fans and those front rows that you're talking about, the tears, the honesty, the inability to not be completely overjoyed because they felt accepted. That's sometimes more powerful than making a pop song and it just was at that time."
However, Examiner.com reports that out of the 18 shows that Gaga played, 179,646 tickets were sold - averaging just 9,980 people per show.
Examiner claim: "This isn't bad, but creates a huge problem when the venues Gaga played at seated 15,000 or more per night. In Los Angeles, they were giving away tickets on the streets before the show.
"Had she not cancelled in Chicago, she would have played to several thousand empty seats. Several sections of her North American venues were described as looking like war zones while her tour in South America was a complete disaster."

Gaga made her live comeback this weekend at the iTunes Festival in London after she was forced to cancel a string of live shows earlier in 2013 to undergo hip surgery. Discussing her injury and the cancelled shows, Gaga revealed in an interview the BBC that feeling her muscles 'waking up', makes her feel like Frankenstein.
"I'm reawakening my muscles. I'm dancing the same way I've always danced and going in with no fear, but I can feel my muscles sort of spasming and waking up as I'm dancing and it's kind of exciting. I feel like Frankenstein," she said in the interview, also revealing that her main concern was that the injury would force her to quit pop altogether.
"I think the fear was more before [surgery] that I would never be able to do this again," she added. "I was nervous, sure. I mean, when the tour ended, I love my fans more than anything, I love making music and I surely love being a star for everyone, but I more love being an entertainer."
