Bestival weather forecast: sunshine and showers expected for weekend

Photo: WENN.com

This weekend's Bestival is set for a mix of sunshine and showers, as previous warnings of torrential rain on the Isle Of Wight appear to have eased.

Earlier this week, the forecast for Bestival looked pretty bleak, with some seriously heavy rain looking certain to turn Robin Hill park into a soggy mudcath for festival slots from the likes of Snoop Dogg, The Knife, MIA, Elton John and Fatboy Slim. Now, it seems like autumn may be held at bay for a little longer, with a generally decent weekend expected on the Isle Of Wight.

The current Bestival forecast is as follows:

Thursday, 5 September 2013: The first day of the festival seems set to be the best of the weekend, with early arrivals on Thursday enjoying unbroken sunshine throughout the day. The weather will take a turn for the worse in the early hours of Saturday however, with heavy downpours expected overnight.

Friday, 6 September 2013: Friday is expected to start with some very wet weather indeed, with the previous night's downpour continuing through the morning. It's not all bad however, with dry spells and occasional sunshine forecast for late afternoon and evening, with a dry night leading into Saturday.

Saturday, 7 September 2013: Don't worry - Saturday is going to be fine. A mixture of sunshine and light cloud is expected, and while there's a chance of some evening rain, the forecast is looking pretty good.

Sunday, 8 September 2013: The weather settles for Sunday, meaning that Elton John will close Bestival without the worry of soaking his sequins as he performs his headline show. A mixture of sunshine and light cloud throughout the day is expected. The early hours of Monday are expected to be fairly grim however, so expect a damp, hungover trip back to the mainland on the ferry after the fun is finished.
