Arctic Monkeys star Alex Turner has spoken of his admiration for The Rolling Stones after watching the rockers make their Glastonbury debut earlier this year.
He admits that it is amazing to see the group still in close friendships with one another, despite being a band for more than fifty years.
He told the Daily Telegraph newspaper, "I'd never seen them before. And from where we were watching [at the side of the stage] there was this little partition behind the drums, and we could see them all before they went on. They were all stood there, having a buzz, laughing."
"Then they went off and did their thing and whenever they went offstage you could see they were loving it, chatting and stuff. You thought, 'yeah, the Stones are still a gang', which was really cool to see actually."

Arctic Monkeys, who also headlined the Festival the same weekend, have known each other for two decades and Turner states that it is their long-lasting friendships that have helped their success and longevity as a band.
He added, "That's what it is, and it's been that since before we were a band and that is quite unusual. I perhaps took that for granted for a while, but I understand how important it is now."
