One Direction’s Harry Styles was booed by Elton John’s iTunes Festival crowd when the piano icon dedicated a song to the pop star.

Sir Elton name dropped Styles before launching into ‘Don’t Let The Sun Go Down On Me’, saying: “Thanks to the fabulous Harry Styles.”

The dedication was met with a chorus of boos, prompting Elton to respond: “I love One Direction – fuck off.”

Earlier in the set Elton dedicated ‘Tiny Dancer’ to his support act at the iTunes Festival, Tom Odell.

‘I’d like to dedicate this song to Tom Odell, who I’, so fond of and such a big fan of, and he’s going to be around for a long time.”

The set for the show at Camden’s Roundhouse was heavy with hits from Elton’s golden period in the 70s, including ‘Rocket Man’, ‘Philadelphia Freedom’ and ‘Bennie And The Jets’ as well as tracks from his new album The Diving Board.
