Kanye West has spoken out in praise of Michael Jackson in a new interview with BBC Radio One, saying that he wouldn't be the artist he is today without him.

Yeezy praised the Thriller star in the already infamous chat with Zane Lowe, saying that he had to fight the same racial prejudice to reach 'massive level and heights'.

"I would not be Kanye West were it not for Michael Jackson," said West. "He had to fight to get his video played because he was black…for me in my life of creativity it's been challenging, but I was able to ascend to massive level and heights.

"There would be no Kanye West if it wasn't for Michael Jackson."

West also praised his close friend and collaborator Jay Z, adding: "Me as Kanye West, a young revolutionary coming out of Chicago, wouldn't have made it without Jay-Z as my big brother, watching my back."

Kanye's European fans were delighted this week when he appeared on French TV show, Le Grand Journal, where it was confirmed that he would be bringing his Yeezus tour to the continent in 2014.
