Adele is rumoured to be making her return to music to star as Dusty Spingfield in an upcoming biopic movie about the legend's life.

The 25-year-old 'Rolling In The Deep' star has been on hiatus since falling pregnant, but now is rumoured for a comeback with a new album soon - and is reported to be playing Dusty Springfield on the big screen.

The Daily Star reports that Adele is attached to a project, 'in the early stages of development', with insiders claiming that the film has been in the pipeline for years, with Duffy and Nicole Kidman both rumoured to be in line for the part previously. They claim that now producers have opted for Adele through due to her 'striking resemblance to Dusty'.

Adele also cites Spingfrield's 'Son Of A Preacher Man' as one of her favourite songs.

Similar rumours surfaced among tabloids last week when it was reported that Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe was in line to play Freddie Mercury in a biopic of the Queen star's life, which he later passionately denied - arguing that he was 'completely wrong' for the part and 'more likely to play Iggy Pop'.

Meanwhile, Adele is one of the acts tipped to headline Glastonbury next year, alongside the likes of Fleetwood Mac, Depeche Mode and Daft Punk.
