Arcade Fire, Lady Gaga and Eminem have been confirmed as headliners at the first ever Youtube awards ceremony, which will take place in New York in November, 2013.

YouTube are due to announce the six nomination categories later this month, with nominees being selected via YouTube data. Users can then vote for the winners.

The massive video sharing website has enlisted acclaimed director Spike Jonze to design the set for the global event and it sounds like it's going to be something special, with Jonze saying: "The whole night should feel like a YouTube video itself". Youtube's head of marketing told Billboard they are aiming to "create live videos during the award shows so that the experience becomes more about creating than presenting."

Performances in London, Seoul, Rio De Janeiro and Moscow will take place leading up to the actual event at Pier 36, New York on November 3rd. As well as featuring commercial artists, 'Youtube famous' musicians will perform, such as "violin dubstep" artist Lindsey Stirling.

Arcade Fire recently premiered new music from their new album, Reflektor, during a special live performance on US TV. Watch the Here Comes The Night Time concert movie below.

Reflektor will be released on 29 October, 2013.
