Lorde has topped the US Billboard chart with her hit 'Royals', knocking Miley Cyrus from the top spot.
The oft-naked hellraiser had spent two weeks at No.1 with her single 'Wrecking Ball', but has now lost her place to the New Zealand newcomer. 'Royals' jumps from No.3 to No.1 on combined airplay and sales, and spends a second week as the most downloaded song in the US, shifting 294,000 in the last week.
Billboard reports that Lorde is the youngest solo artist (she's 16-years-old) to score a US No.1 since Tiffany took the top spot in 1987 with her iconic 'I Think We're Alone Now' hit in 1987. She is also the first female solo star to score a US No.1 single with her debut release since Carly Rae Jepsen hit the top spot with 'Call Me Maybe'.

Katy Perry is at No.2 with her single 'Roar', Cyrus' 'Wrecking Ball' drops to No.3, Drake is at No.4 with 'Hold On, We're Going Home' and Avicii's 'Wake Me Up' is at No.5.
Following the release of his new album, Nothing Was The Same, Drake currently has 12 songs on the Billboard Hot 100.
