Sinead O'Connor has penned a heartfelt open letter to Miley Cyrus, warning her about the dangers of the music industry.
The 'Nothing Compares 2 U' singer published the letter on her website, in response to Cyrus telling Rolling Stone her now infamous 'Wrecking Ball' video was inspired by O'Connor's iconic 1990 visuals for tearjerking ballad 'Nothing Compares 2 U'.

O'Connor tells Cyrus "I am extremely concerned for you that those around you have led you to believe, or encouraged you in your own belief, that it is in any way ‘cool’ to be naked and licking sledgehammers in your videos."
She goes on to slam the music industry, saying "The music business doesn’t give a shit about you, or any of us. They will prostitute you for all you are worth."
O'Connor is no stranger to controversy herself, having been in the papers in recent years for her mental health issues and alleged drug problems. Her comments come after a string of controversies involving Cyrus, including a now infamous performance at the VMAs and appearing nude in her much-parodied recent video 'Wrecking Ball'.
O'Connor signs off her letter by saying "I would be encouraging you to send healthier messages to your peers.. that they and you are worth more than what is currently going on in your career. Kindly fire any motherfucker who hasn’t expressed alarm, because they don’t care about you."
Over to you, Miley...
