Paul McCartney appeared on US chat show Late Night With Jimmy Fallon on Tuesday night and claimed he invented both the photobomb and the selfie.
During the Beatles icon's chat with the talk show host, he joked that he was responsible for modern photography crazes the photobomb and the selfie.
"Most people don't know that I invented the selfie," McCartney told Fallon. After a photo appeared on screen portraying McCartney appearing behind bandmate George Harrison and two Beatles fans, the musician claimed that as proof he was also the first person to stage a photobomb.

He also appeared in a backstage sketch with Fallon, in which the pair swapped accents (fairly badly). McCartney then took to the stage to perform two tracks from his upcoming album, New. He played 'Save Us', and 'New'. He also performed 1968 Beatles classic 'Lady Madonna'.
New, McCartney's sixteenth studio album, will be released on October 14th.
