Madonna is among a string of big names who have been shortlisted for the 2014 Songwriters Hall Of Fame.
The Material Girl joins the likes of Led Zeppelin duo Robert Plant and Jimmy Page, Cyndi Lauper, Linda Perry, Nile Rogers and Bernard Edwards and Ray Davies in the nominees for the songwriter-performer list.
John Mellencamp, Cat Stevens and Heart's Ann and Nancy Wilson are just some of the other nominees in the category.
Meanwhile, in the non-performing songwriter category 'Midnight Train to Georgia' writer Jim Weatherly, Mark James, the writer behind 'Always on My Mind' and country music songwriters Bobby Braddock and Bill Anderson.
Songwriting duos including Hugo & Luigi, Sandy Linzer and Denny Randell, and Dan Penn and Spooner Oldham have also been nominated for their work.

Inductees from this year's Songwriters Hall Of Fame included Aerosmith's Steven Tyler and Joe Perry, as well as Mick Jones and Lou Gramm from Foreigner.
Eligible voters have until December 16 to pick two nominees from the songwriter-performer list and three from the non-performer list.
The 2014 Songwriters Hall of Fame Induction will be held in New York on June 12.
