Thom Yorke and Atoms For Peace surprised fans by performing a cover of Marvin Gaye's  'Got To Give It Up'. Watch a video of the performance below.

Thom Yorke, Nigel Godrich, Flea and co were performing at the Pepsi Centre in Mexico Centre when the band kicked into the funk classic during a second encore.

Instrumentally, Atoms For Peace stay pretty true to undeniable groove at the core of the track, while Radiohead frontman Yorke's high vocal register give the song a much more shrill and haunting atmosphere than ever before.

The sharp-eared among you may note the similarity with 'Blurred Lines' by Robin Thicke. While the ongoing legal battle between the writers of 'Blurred Lines' and the family of Marvin Gaye rumbles on, co-writer Pharrell Williams has spoken out in defence of the track.

Earlier this year, Robin Thicke, Pharrell Williams and T.I. opened a lawsuit agains Marvin Gaye's family over a dispute regarding 'Blurred Lines' - relating to claims that the No.1 single bares a strong resemblence to Gaye's 'Got To Give It Up'. Gaye’s family and Bridgeport Music, which owns the right to Funkadelic’s music, have argued that 'Blurred Lines' infringes copyright, and have threatened the trio with a lawsuit. As a result, The Hollywood Reporter now claims that Thicke, Pharrell, and T.I. have sought to preempt a possible lawsuit by filing one of their own against Gaye’s family and Bridgeport and suing them.

Now, in spite of the lawsuit, Pharrell has praised Marvin Gaye's legend and influence while defending the track.
