Members of The Pogues will attend the funeral of former guitarist Philip Chevron this week in Dublin.
Musicians past and present from the band, including frontman Shane MacGowan, are expected to pay their last respects to Chevron, after his death this week aged 56. The service will take place at Dublin's Mansion House.
"Phil knew he was loved but the outpouring has been incredible," said Chevron's Radiators From Space bandmate Pete Holidai speaking to Irish publication, The Herald.
Earlier this week, stars including Trainspotting author Irvine Welsh and Irish band The Strypes spoke of publicly of their sadness on Twitter after the guitarist died on Tuesday, 8 October 2013.
Chevron was treated for head and neck cancer in 2007 but given a clean bill of health in April 2012. Sadly, a new tumour appeared in August 2012 which was deemed inoperable. He died this morning (Tuesday 8 October).
Posting on their official website, The Pogues said: "After a long illness Philip passed away peacefully this morning. We all send our sincere condolences to his family."
